Awesome Sight & Attractions

  • Old Man’s Cave: This large recess cave is the most popular area in the park and was once inhabited by a hermit named Richard Rowe. Guests can hike a one-mile trail to Old Man’s Cave and admire breathtaking rock formations and bridges along the way.
  • Devil’s Bathtub: Located between the Upper Falls and Old Man’s Cave, the famous Devil’s Bathtub is a hole in the weak middle layer of the Blackhand sandstone that has become enlarged and deepened by the swirling action of Old Man’s Creek. The upper part of the waterfall drops into a deep, bowl-shaped basin, forming a whirlpool that bubbles into the creek.
  • Conkle’s Hollow: Conkles Hollow State Nature Preserve is a rugged gorge that is considered to be the deepest in Ohio. The valley floor is covered with ferns and wildflowers, and hemlock, birch, and other hardwood trees tower overhead.
  • Rock House: The fascinating Rock House is a tunnel-like cave that was caused by many years of erosion and is located midway up a 150-foot cliff made of Blackhand sandstone. Through the cave’s gothic-like windows, visitors can admire a spectacular view of the green valley below.
