Hocking Hills Fishing

Cast a line during your stay at the Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls! Our area has clear rivers and lakes teeming with fish. Snag a fishing license online, then get to reeling in the fish!

Hocking River Fishing

If you prefer river fishing, the Hocking River is the perfect spot for you. The mid and upper sections of this river have an impressive amount of smallmouth bass, channel catfish, white crappie, quillback, saugeye, and more. The best time for Hocking Hills fishing on the river is in the spring, but summer anglers usually find luck along the shore. Try casting your line in shaded areas where the cooler waters are located.

Hocking Hills Lake Fishing

Lake fishing is another option for fishing enthusiasts. Lake Logan, one of the most popular spots for casting a line, offers Northern pike, bass, bluegill, crappie, catfish, and saugeye. Rose Lake, located just a half mile from our property, is another great area for Hocking Hills fishing. The clear water in this 17-acre lake provides excellent habitat for big rainbow trout. It is stocked annually in spring, and bonus fish are added each fall when they’re available!

Hocking Hills Hunting

Did you know that Hocking County has over 9,200 acres of public land available to hunters? If you’re looking to plan a hunting trip during your stay at the Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls, you’ll want to go to Hocking State Forest. This area is managed by the state under a multiple-use concept with special emphasis on maintaining forest cover. This approach has helped create an excellent habitat for deer, and the whitetail population is thriving.

Three designated nature preserves are also in Hocking Forest. Conkles Hollow, Sheick Hollow, and Little Rocky Hollow are off-limits to hunting. The boundaries of these areas are marked with white and/or red paint spots.
