7 of the Most Beautiful Hocking Hills Waterfalls
1. Cedar Falls
Cedar Falls is the largest in terms of water volume. Spanning over 50 feet, Cedar Falls looks much bigger in person than in pictures. From the top, water slides down a massive chunk of sandstone, splits in the middle, and then meets up again before plunging into a pool. This creates a rather unique looking cascade. After enjoying this natural wonder, make your way to the large rocky beach area at the base of the falls for some well-deserved relaxation.
2. Big Spring Hollow Falls
At over 100 feet, Big Spring Hollow Falls is one of the highest, if not the highest, waterfall in the Hocking Hills area. It provides a wispy curtain of spray and is at least 10 feet wide. Reaching this waterfall is a workout, so come prepared to trek a good distance. Visitation of Big Spring Hollow Falls is available only to those with a permit. Contact the state park in advance to apply for yours!

3. Rockbridge Falls
As the name suggests, this waterfall flows under a natural bridge, giving it a unique look. Rockbridge Falls only has water flowing occasionally. However, the combination of natural features makes it worth a visit. The falls and bridge are found in the Rockbridge State Nature Preserve, which is located at the end of Dalton Road. If you are arriving by canoe, you can easily pull your canoe to the shore and hike to the falls from the river. Be sure to make time for this beautiful waterfall!

4. Cantwell Cliffs
Cantwell Cliffs in Hocking Hills is one of the most remote trails in the park. Challenge yourself and brave the miles of trails to this wonderful, secluded spot. The Cantwell Cliffs stand over 150 feet tall and overlook Buck Run. Don’t miss the magical sight of the waterfall over the cliffs!
5. Ash Cave
Ash Cave, located in the Hocking Hills State Park, is named for the large amount of ash that early settlers discovered in the cave. The settlers believed that Native Americans used Ash Cave for their shelter and that the ash was from their campfires. In addition to the enormous 700 -foot long cave, the natural attraction also boasts a stunning waterfall at its center. Ash Cave is especially breathtaking in the winter when the waterfall is completely frozen. No matter the time of year, Ash Cave is a perfect day trip from the Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls.
6. Conkle’s Hollow
Located in the heart of the scenic Hocking Hills region, Conkle’s Hollow State Park is one of our guests’ favorite places to go hiking in the area. You’ll marvel at the park’s stunning scenic overlooks, Black Hand sandstone cliffs, and cascading waterfalls. It’s the perfect spot for your next adventure in nature!

7. Old Man’s Cave
Old Man’s Cave is one of the most popular attractions in the Hocking Hills State Park. As one of the park’s seven major hiking areas, you can expect to find cliffs, rock structures, and, of course, waterfalls as you make your way around the natural formation. Traverse the stone bridge, take a photo of the Devil’s Bathtub, and explore the cave where the “Old Man” himself, Richard Rowe, lived in the early 1800s.
