1. George Hutchins Covered Bridge
35 minutes from the Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls
The George Hutchins Covered Bridge, originally built in 1904, is located in Alley Park in Lancaster. It was initially located at Strickler Road over Clear Creek Crossing, but it was reconstructed in its current location for the Fairfield County Bicentennial Celebration in 2000. The 49-foot-long Multiple Kingpost bridge now crosses Lake Loretta.
2. Hanaway Covered Bridge
39 minutes from the Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls
The Hanaway Covered Bridge is rich in United States history. The bridge was built in 1881 by James Buchanan, an Ohio school teacher, to make Madison Township a more navigable area. The bridge is unique in that it was constructed on a curve and only has a canopy on one side. Today, the bridge is part of Two Glaciers Park in Fairfield County. At 85 feet long, it is the longest covered bridge on this list.
3. Mink Hollow Covered Bridge

Located in Arney Run Park, Mink Hollow Covered Bridge still sits on its original 19th-century sandstone abutments. This Fairfield County covered bridge is also referred to as “Oil Mill Hollow Bridge” due to its location near the old oil mill. The bridge spans 51 feet and was constructed in 1887. Mink Hollow is just a short drive away from Clear Creek Metro Park, so be sure to stop at this gorgeous park on your way here.
4. Rock Mill Covered Bridge
45 minutes from the Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls
Rock Mill Covered Bridge was built in 1901 and is 37 feet long. It sits on its original abutments and features a queen post truss. When you visit Rock Mill, admire the bridge’s picturesque views of the gorge right and the falls of the Hocking River.
5. Hartman Number 2 Covered Bridge (Lockville Covered Bridge)
46 minutes from the Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls
Hartman Number 2 Covered Bridge originally spanned Pleasant Run when it was constructed 1888. However, in 1967 it was disassembled and rebuilt in its current location in Lockville Canal Park. This bright red queen post truss bridge is the perfect spot for a photo op!
